Heather Tingle is the founder of Untangled by Tingle and has been helping families across the UK reclaim their homes since 2017. A proud Autistic and ADHDer herself, Heather brings a unique, neurodivergent-affirming approach to decluttering and organising that focuses on compassion, practicality and systems that actually work in real life.
Heather is the go-to decluttering expert for BBC Radio Sheffield, an APDO member since 2016, and the host of the Decluttering Untangled podcast, ranked in the top 2.5% globally. Her Amazon bestselling Declutter Planner and trademarked PAVES System have supported thousands of people to create calmer, easier-to-manage spaces.
Her expertise has been featured in Reader’s Digest, Woman & Home, Ideal Home, Happiful, Metro and more, and she has spoken at events including the APDO Conference, Ideas Fest, Ideal Home Show, and Clean & Tidy Home Show. Heather has also appeared on ITV News and delivered training on clutter and neurodivergence for various national charities.
As a thought leader, advocate and speaker, Heather is passionate about changing the narrative that a messy home is a sign of laziness or a personal failing. She shows that clutter often builds up when we try to force ourselves into systems that don’t fit our brains or our circumstances, especially when we’re comparing our homes to how we think everyone else is living. Instead, she helps people find ways of organising that actually work for them, so their homes feel like a safe space to be themselves.
In her spare time she can usually be found being dragged by her teen daughter to K-Pop concerts and musicals, heading off on city breaks, walks in the Peak District, or watching Netflix while fending off the enthusiastic “affection” of her semi-feral cat.
